WTB: MAF Screen
#11
If something is getting past your filter, it is getting past the screen.
A MAF screen is not used to help block debris

Well my car is excessively stalling. And if I put the a/c on, watch out. I stall atleast 2-3 times each way to work regularly. When I slow down with the clutch down (when crawling or at a stop), you see the rpm drop below 500 and the car just dies. Then if I'm driving and for whatever reason I push down on the clutch for longer then like 5 seconds, the car will die no matter what speed I'm going (found this out when i slammed on the clutch when I saw a cop).
My idle with my a/c on is FUCKED. Revs from 500 to 1000, then keeps going up and down randomly.
All this only started happening when i removed my MAF screen and got my tune. So I dunno wtf to do anymore so I figured I'd try to MAF screen first.

Just curious, why is the screen there in the first place and what, if any, gains are there to removing it?

the screen is there to stabalize the air going past the MAF. In return, it restricts the air a bit. Removing the MAF screen increases the airflow (2hp worth in my case, not worth it!!), but in turn makes the air much more turbulent which can send your MAF readings out of whack which is what supposedly causes your car to stall.
