I get the feeling a lot of you guys are turned off by the fact that the car needs a top replacement?? I had someone mention that to me.
That boggles my mind, I thing having a excellent rust free straight original body, clean original floor and good paint is much higher on the list. Not to mention, the fact that the car is mechanically A1.
Maybe I should have just spent money on a new top and reskinned the drivers seat...it would have been much cheaper. (actually, I didn't want my sister to be stranded on the street one day...so i made sure the car was mechanically perfect) When I bought this car the last thing on my mind was the vinyl. I notice a lot of people look at this stuff and ignore the really costly stuff that you don't see.
Just something I was thinking about...
Cheers

Not only did I get the car, I hope I also made a friend out of this deal. I've bought 52 cars since the 1970's (all for my personal use - what can I say, I'm addicted!) and this is the _FIRST_ car that I have ever bought privately.
Now the bad news: I have ZERO mechanical skills (or knowledge) so I'll be on here occasionally asking what seasoned 'Stangers might consider to be some pretty simple/dumb questions. Please have pity on me.

Welcome. There are lots of people in the know here.

Thank you for the welcome. I've been checking this place out for a month or so prior to buying the '89 (my second Mustang) and it sure looks like a friendly, helpful place! I don't know much about the mechanical side so I really appreciate the advice from people who do.
