Regarding ANY stripes, I usually run painters tape 1/8" OVER the stripe, both sides... it really takes nothing to prep it up for a good waxing with tape, and the end result actually saves you time by not having to deal with removing any residual wax off the edges of the stripes... I also tape sections where the paint comes real close to any moldings, again a lil prep with tape actually cuts down on your wax job.
A point I want to add, removing the wax off with the micro fiber is fine, but for the actual final polishing I use a soft 100% all cotton cloth, also found at Canadian Tire, micro fiber cloths are ok,but I have actually seen them cutting fine swirls into top coats
(no matter how fine they are, you're still dealing with polyester, which is quite tough) all cotton cloths I use get washed in hot water ( to remove wax buildup) and reuse them, the more times you wash them, the softer they become.

Just wanted to comment on this stuff, as I just completed a long afternoon of detailing the Mistress! Of course I first washed the car, and dried it with a very high quality 100% cotton towel, then used the Autoglym polish, and then the wax. Well I'm amazed at the shine...this stuff is the

I will post some pics tomorrow, and you guys can judge for yourself, but I think its the best the Mistress has ever looked
