Mach 460 audio

I am sure it has been asked before, but I did a search and couldn't find it.

What is involved in switching head units with the Mach 460 system. The CD player with it won't eject my cd so I am assuming the cheapest and simplest solution is to replace the 2 head units with a single head unit.

Do I need anything special to still use the existing amps, etc.? Not a big audio guy so I really know very little about amps and such.

alot of people say audio isnt to good but ive had a set for 3 years now and have put up to a 4000 watt amp on them they hit hard and sound good to me...i guess its all up to the person if they like the sound of the subs or not...far as your set up goes i think it would a decent sounding system...

all you need to do in order to use the stock speakers with an aftermarket HU is find the correct adapters for the wire harness. there will be one for the speakers (going to the amps) and one for power, ground ect..

now if you want to go with aftermarket speakers.. you'll have to bypass all the Mach amps. in the coupe (mine is a 2000) all four speakers are 5x7... if you can find a good brand that makes that size that's great, but i was able to use alpine type R 6x9's in both the rear and front. I was actually thinking about trying to creat a post on how to mod a mach system and i might get around to it. but my advice, if you're just replacing the HU, get a good harness adapter, and it's all plug and play. all the wires from your HU harness and the adapter should match. but if you're replacing speakers and all that just PM me and i'll help you out if u need.

good luck
