I use the power wash all the time, but never use the brush after I saw a guy with a mud covered 4x4 scrub off his tires with one. You might as well go to Crappy Tire and get a few sheets of 120 grit sandpaper and scrub her down in the parking lot with that!! lol

Ever go to the actual car wash? ie.. pressure wash with their soap and rinse etc...
Strictly hand wash. Mustang is rinsed without nozzle attachment, less water sprayed on vehicle less there is to wipe off. Use only Meguiar products which include;

Meguiar's Car Wash, Car Wash mitts, drying towels,microfiber shine or polishing cloths, Meguiar's Interior Detailing Products. Have used Meguiar's Tech 2.0 wax for the past two years but have now added Meguiar's Ultimate Car Wax to the stable of products.

Mustang was claybared (Meguiar's) in 2009.

Mustang is washed on the driveway but waxed in the garage out of direct sunlight.

I have only used spray car washes when at out of town car show and shines and hand washing is not available. Lately my practise has been to take a large spray bottle with a little car wash in it to get the bugs off the Mustang, then rinse with another bottle of plain water, wipe off then use an application of Meguiar's Detailing Spray and then wax the area. I agree with a previous poster that spray car wash brushes can have debris in the brush head that can potentially scratch the paint.

**Snakebite and I are not related but we could be by the number of Meguiar's products and microfiber towels we have. Hmmmm Snakebite and Ray's Detailing Service.....has a bit of a ring to it. Two locations Calgary and Edmonton.

Waxing over the stripes should not be a problem. If you use Meguiar's Ultimate Wax kit there will be no problem.

Eventually you may get a buildup but a toothbrush will take care of that
