did the dealer not let you know that the car should not be washed or waxed until 3-4 weeks after purchase. both the paint and clearcoat take this long to fully cure.

Dont sweat it. They dont paint them on the lot! The vehicle is painted months before its on the lot. All parts are sub-assemblies that get painted and cured prior to final assembly. Then they assembly startes at the plant then delivery to a dealer which usually takes weeks. Not to mention how long the car sat on the dealer lot.

NXT is the stuff!! I want to lay down a carnuba now too, but I'm afraid if it doesn't work I'll end up with more work to remove it all.

You will have no issues topping NXT with a Carnauba. Just make sure you give the NXT 12 hours to cure first.

Yes and no. For new cars there is no need for concern. For a fresh paint job from a body shop you do need to wait. If they bake the car it reduces wait time in half depending how long its baked. A Baked car can be buffed and polished as soon as two weeks. A car that sits in the sun all day can also be done after two weeks. If its brought from the paintbooth into a garage and only see's weekend driving, wait at least a month.
