Yes there is a stick on the drivers door or door jam at the very bottom there will be 2 letters AX = Axle, under it will be like a Z or some letter.

Have a look at this page I think it might come in handy for you. You can decode your VIN and find out what gears you have by looking at the fallowing.

Hope this helps.

What page are you talking about??

No Problem, but does the site work for a 90 mustang? Couldn't find information that goes back that far on the site.

Hi,
the axle vin if "F", can you tell me what the gears are in the rear end

Thanks

According to the site Stang Illusions 5.0L posted, F= 3.45. Which is kind of puzzeling, because I thought automatics only came with 3.73's...

Are those gears for a 2.3L (4 cyl.) or for a 5.0 (V8)?

Thanks again

Reaper 12-18-2008 08:42 PM

Either or... The RPO code for the gears will be the same regardless.

hows the acceleration with it, any better, or the same; since it doesn't rev higher and doesn't effect fuel economy

brattstanger91 01-30-2009 07:52 PM
