Looks like your stang can be saved.Make sure to take pics once you got the body panels off.Would like to see how bad she really is under that stuff.
....And man that is sad for the ol Macher!!!

Crafty 03-02-2010 04:46 PM

well i know it's been quite a while since i've last posted on this thread, or at all for that matter :( i've been bust dealing with paperwork, exercise, and coping with living on my own. i've been able to finally get some work done on the stang now that things are starting to settle, and sofar progress has been pretty good. i'm hoping to keep a little more up to date with everything here and hope to be posting more often again.

but anyhow here are some pics for you all:

lol srry i missed ur post. I'm not 100% on what i want to do with a power adder, if i want to go with a turbo or M112 eaton. but 400 RWHP is my goal. :) i'm kinda leaning towards the M112, basically because the kit is cheaper, the install i can do myself, and i LOOOOVVEE that blower whine... :chacha: finally got to ride in a GT with a whipple and omg that was sweet!

Blackheart4355 03-08-2010 10:01 PM

Crafty,

Sorry to hear about your accident..something similar happened to mine and insurance fixed it so all is good. I'm running the VAP Windstar Intake, Steeda underdrive pulley, dual exhaust, 4:10 with T-Lok, tubular upper and lower control arms and hurst short throw..drives really nice and is dyno'd at 231 RWHP. Looking to do Tom Morana Stage 3 heads, cam and roller rockers..hoping to be in the ballpark of 300RWHP..

hey sounds like a sweet deal. i've always wondered what tom morana's stuff is like for quality. you'll have to post up if you get them. :)

^^^ x2 for me. I am also wondering.

Crafty 03-14-2010 07:32 PM

well i got to spend some time on the stang today. :chacha: she's starting to look pretty bare. engine is almost ready to get yanked out. only need to disconnect the exhaust, trans, and motor mounts. I also got started on the interior as well. pulled the back seats, center console, and passenger side seat as well. the carpet and seats are deff going to be replaced at some point... black carpet and either 05+ leather seats, or recaro race buckets lol.

ok as for the hood. i needed a good engine cover. so now i have the garbage bag lol, the hood, and my car cover :)_

this is the look i'm after. minus the cobra wing. IMO the cobra wing looks out of place without the cobra rear bumper..:wiggle:

That stang is a good example of a nice clean looking stang.Don't know the dude, but see his car posted on many U.S forums. It's definitely a nice choice of an example to go with. And awesome job so far!!:tup

Crafty 03-14-2010 08:43 PM

i know.. i've followed his build progress for almost a year now on one forum. and he does some amazing photography. only differences, is the wing, mirrors, and i'd like to switch to black FR500's with DD in the back. a guy can dream

1low03gt 03-15-2010 09:05 PM

Dreams are what gives you the drive.Without dreamming, would you have a stang right now!

Blackheart4355 03-16-2010 07:30 AM

Hey Crafty,

I see in your pictures that your rad support is rusting..when mine was in a collision and taken apart we found the same thing. Luckly, it was to be replaced as it was badly bent. But it really surprised me that at the 4 yr mark (my collision was in 08) that the rad support was so rusty. So I think by replacing it, we extended the life of the car by a number of years, as if the collision had not happened the rust would never have been noticed.

yea most of the rust is all in the front of the car, and i'll be looking into replacing most of it. it doesn't take long for canadian cars to get all rusty when they are winter driven... :( but needless to say i think my stang has seen it's last winter

1low03gt 03-16-2010 07:12 PM

The rad craddle, and front frame rails always get the worse of it.These areas have to deal with rain, snow for some, condensation, and heat,it has hope in hell to stay in mint shape unless it has been oiled from day one in my opinion,or kept in a very dry room.

or unless ur snakebite :D

1low03gt 03-16-2010 09:01 PM

So true  :D

Crafty 03-17-2010 02:35 PM

man.. that GT500 has to be one of the cleanest around that actually get licenced and driven. i bet it rarely get's to see dust.. nevermind rust.. but mind you.. i'd do the exact same thing. :D once my stang gets repainted.. wax and clean everyday :tup i only wish it could look as good as that Gt500...

also wanted to ask you guys for an opinion, i was thinking of getting the whole engine bay resprayed, but i was wondering basicially with what? just paint?

1low03gt 03-17-2010 08:08 PM

All you need to do is go to a auto parts store like NAPA that mixes paint, and puts it in a rattle can for you. While your at it,don't forget the primer.
Would look sweet all cleaned up.:tup
Or have it painted before you have the front assembled, and painted.

ohh yea it'll be all painted up before anything goes on. i also want to try and tuck some of the wires away too. seen it done in a foxbody and i loved the less cluttered look. just minor stuff, EGR delete, wires, things like that.

1low03gt 03-18-2010 08:49 PM

Should look pretty sweet!!:tup

Crafty 03-20-2010 09:08 AM

well i'm pretty stoked! got someone coming to look at the rims :D hopefully he'll take them away, then i'll have some more stang rebuild cash and we can really get some work done! and personally.. black FR500's with DD in the rear is gunna be sick. :tup
if this sale goes down. all frame peices should be purchased and next step will be paying the shop to do the work :)

1low03gt 03-20-2010 01:02 PM

That will be awesome!
The black FR's will look really goodblack on black always looks aggressive.:tup

ohh yea. i think this time i'm just going to murder it out. only thing i'm not sure about is tinting the cobra tails.. just cause they are stupid to find at a decent price and i dont wanna screw them up.. :(

Crafty 03-20-2010 08:52 PM

ok just want to see what people think.. leave the cobra tails as is, or tint the cobra tails? would make for a good cheap project for me. :) will attempt on stock lights first tho.. lol

-PLOTNIK- 03-21-2010 08:30 AM

tint . . . . no black out

1low03gt 03-21-2010 12:53 PM

The '99/'01 Cobra tails,left alone stock.:tup

Crafty 03-25-2010 09:16 AM

well some good news on the stang. made a bit of money this week. a guy is looking to come pick up some stuff off the stang. $1600 worth. just enough to pay for the frame work! :D but now she wont have ANY bumpers, rollin on the stock rims again, and no nitrous
