Crafty's 2000 mustang build. sorta

k well it's my sixer so i figured why not put it in here..
basically i'm parking the car now. i know it's a little early but w/e.. i have a massive nasty air vacume leak somewhere on my stock manifold, and my clutch is on it's way out, and my suspension needs to be finished for the new year. oh i forgot to add i have to prep it for nitrous:chacha:

i'll be trying to add as many pics as i can to this thread. my basic goal is to beat a certain turbo civic next year at the drags... well two actually... :(

i'll start off with current mods:

4.2L F150 swap (kept 3.8 heads. to be ported)
spec stg2 clutch
tri ax short throw
3.73 gears
steeda comp springs
and i went on a diet:LOL:

plans for '10
(keepin realistic)
windstar intake
8.8" with 3.90
180* thermostat
GT rear sway bar
c/cplates
100 shot of nitrous
05-09 mustang seats
rear seat delete
(maybe) ported heads
and some really stickey tires lol

and yet more dieting lol

so we'll see how she goes... i want to get most of it done before it gets too too cold...

NickGT 09-06-2009 11:21 PM

Good call on the 05-09 seats. I drove to vancouver and back from calgary with no pain whatsoever. My 2002 GT Convertible seats were back breaking after 15 mins. Maybe I'm just to sensitive lol. Good luck with the plans dude.

-PLOTNIK- 09-07-2009 09:59 AM

tell me how hard the windstar intake will be to install, im thinking of doing that to the 3.9

yea no worries. i have already had a shot at it and it wasn't running really well... so that's why i'm parking it to work on it. but damn does it look cool on the sixer!!:chacha: lol the extra power wouldn't hurt either. the only thing i'm doing different is i want the intake to be fender mounted or at least clean it up a bit so we'll see how she goes..

i know.. it's not the fact that they hurt it's just that every time i sit in a newer GT the bolster is a lot better for cornering and the head rests are taller and actually get to my head :tup it's either black leather GT seats or go with corbeaus (SP?) seats that look similar.

1low03gt 09-07-2009 08:56 PM

You got yourself a nice little plan going!! :tup

SNAKEBITE 09-08-2009 07:35 AM

Added seats from an 06 to mine, thought you might like to see.

Crafty 10-02-2009 07:26 PM

oh sweet deal. they seem to fit in there just right :tup good improvement over the stock buckets? my other option is trying to get the recaro cobra R's from FRPP. the part # is M-16620-C but i haven't called for price or even if they are still available... :S
btw tony.. do you still have that 7.5" tloc sitting around? if you do i wouldn't mind paying to take it off your hands. i dont feel like paying $800 for the only used IRS in the area and i'm going to wait on the 8.8"..

1low03gt 10-02-2009 09:02 PM

Cool stuff dude!!Is the Windstar intake plastic?

lol yea it is, it's the same stuff the GT intake's are made from. aparently they can take some major abuse tho. two 3.8's are either running a vortech/procharger on it. one was at 10-12psi if i remember correctly. crazy really.
i also might get my brother to make a kinda cover like the 3v 4.6's have. just to fit inbetween the runners. and i also have new BFG's coming in tomorrow too. so i might hold off on the windstar for another couple weeks. or at least till the snow comes down the vally... :(

1low03gt 10-03-2009 06:23 PM

Col!!Will be lighter, and will not heat soak as bad as the stocker.Just keep the nitrous away from it LOL!
Cool idea on the cover for the intake.

You have to use the wiring and rails from the original seats, including the seat controls at the seat front, but it is a great mod. Sorry a fellow local club member is enjoying my old 7.5.

Damn, thats nuts. Rear ended someone I take it or mega backed in to, perhaps clipped someone going into that driveway?

Hope you are ok and pick up some nurses for us :tup

Crafty 10-31-2009 02:42 AM

well if you look you can see the black pickup that was involved ()
according to all the witnesses, he slammed on his brakes to make the turn at the last second (no turn signal) i hit him and my car basically went under his.. all i remember was his tailgate commin up way to close. aparently (i actually dont remember it.. ) i had got out of the car to check on him... and as soon as i took five steps.. i went pale and started to stumble.. so I went back to my car.. he RAN into the building near by not caring for the fact i was obviously in shock and loosing the fight to stay with it.. i had to call for my own ambulance... to my luck an off duty paramedic was getting gas across the street and saw the whole thing.. and was pretty quick to help out.. my mother was called and aparently watched them pull my ass out of the car. lol i never knew so many people could fit in my car at once... but i guess it took them 15 minutes to pull me out safely..

as for me.. staying the night or safety.. in a collar.. again... a lot of neck pain.. and some chest pain. BTW: air bags never went off...:confused:

lol funny u should ask. i have two friends that want to take me out haloween night if i can go out.. one's a nurse lol the other works with my ex... both are hott blondes :tup yea i'm pretty depressed.. but my old man said that if i got rid of the tundra he'll pay the balance towards a new silverado.. so i am trying not to dwell on the past (she so aint comin back...) and try to rebuild my life. lol i'm still young. i'm sure i'll be ine. just as long as i avoid relationships for a bit

btw.. i'll be gettin the car back.. and parting it out.. so i'll most likely start a new thread in the for sale. if anyone want's "DIBS" if i do get it. just pm me.

1low03gt 10-31-2009 10:57 PM

Take care of yourself, and i'm glad to see your alright.
You sure you wouldn't want to add a F 150 into your life instead of a Government Motors truck.LOL!

-PLOTNIK- 11-01-2009 01:46 AM

dude just get better and don't worrie about now . . . . . . just think new stang???

Crafty 11-01-2009 01:48 AM

lol thx guys. i'm trying not to stress out too much here.. but it's still hard. just gotta take it one day at a time :) as for the truck situation.. if i were to buy a ford again.. it'll be a lightning for sure.. dont feel too safe in lowered cars right now lol. might try to find another older mustang that runs

1low03gt 11-01-2009 07:38 PM

A Lightning would be pretty sweet.I would love to own one of the first generation Lightnings, heck even a second generation Lightning LOL!

Crafty 11-02-2009 12:11 AM

man.. i'd love to get a lightning! 5.4L stock supercharger.... ICBC snagged my licence tho for three months... so kinda outta luck there..might just get a decent sport pickup, and then maybe a bike :D

menna 11-02-2009 02:38 PM
