Engine Mods

I'm looking into getting a new cam and throttle body for my 95 sixer. I don;t really know all the much about either of those, so which one would be best for my car.

Thanks.

MUSTANG GUY 06-15-2006 09:45 AM

honestly IMO neither is worth the money

Do a dual exuast first with a h pipe...and gears.A cam and t body wont help much.

Well I pretty much got the basic mods done so far such as duals, cai, and udp, so I am starting to look into more engine based mods, for instance I am planning to put a procharger over the winter so I have to put in forged internals.

Get a NOS kit for it. Best bang for the buck

i split port swap would be an ok idea on your car anothe 40hp and no HG porblem anymore or keep the single port stuff and start porting the carp outta them our heads and upper intakes are restictive like heck. i would say go to v6power.net 3.8 has a bunch of moron(16 yr old kids) that want 300rwhp for stupid cheap prices and don't know tha tthey have to pay to play.

How much would a split port swap run me, I was thinking of it before, but I didn't know how "doable" it really was.

you should pm v6sprout....I'm pretty sure he's got everything you need and he's done it before.

You shouldn't need forged internals unless you're running over 6lb of boost, besides why get a cam now if you're gonna tear into the engine this winter anyway? A cam is not an easy thing to do, you'll be better off doing it all at once. I'd throw on your blower as-is, then look into getting a complete newer 3.8, to build-up with good parts and forged internals-if that's what you wanna do, they're stronger, made more power and can be had fairly cheap from a wrecker.
Before you do anything, I'd do as the others suggested and talk to V6sprout or go to the 3.8 sites to see what's been working.

V6Sprout 06-25-2006 09:31 PM

no forged internals are needed for a properly tuned supercharged car, many guysy are puching high nunmbers with blowers and no problems. The procharger on a stock single por tmotor is good for 230ish RWHP maybe more. On a split port motor you can get 270 RWHP in stock trim. Split port motors have seen well over 400 RWHP on stock internals, the tuning is the key.

If you need any help with anything letme know, I don't live to far from ya, I am in the St. Catharines area.

You got a PM Sprout

hey Man I came to this forum to find out where the real power is and Im sixteen (and not a moron) with a '95 sixer its still stock but I've been readin' up and so far I believe dual stainless-steel catback exhuast (h-pipe) with a CAI, LSD, new fuel injectors would be best for more power, but only after I bore it out, put stainless rods, forged pistons, stroke it, and get performance heads and headers on it......... Am I still an moron? :bird:

dohp 09-13-2006 05:24 PM

^^ easy there trigger, you appear (notice i said appear) to be a moron when you come on here and suddenly start getting angry at ppl that know what they are doing that made a post 3 months before you knew this website existed, and had commented to someone else, take it down a notch and others might be more willing to help out

Mustang 101 09-19-2006 08:17 AM

ya I just wanted to know cause that list is pretty long and it would be nice to know how much it all costs

TonyDee 10-05-2006 10:25 AM

My 02 has an 11psi Procharger. It had 265 rwhp before I put in the 5 speed, so I am guessing about 275 now. Stock internals and a good tune. :thumb1:

I have about $4000 in my car. did most of the work myself. ported it put the 2001 motor together. did the re and re. bought used cobra rims, powder coated them at my shop... prep'd the car myself and had it sprayed...
