winter or all season?

So I have a little dilemma. I've bought a new 2014 base and since it is coming from a different dealer than my local Ford dealer outsourced they claim they have put snow tires on the base 17''s.
This means they are charging another $800 for the 1 set of winter tires and 1 set of all seasons but only 1 set of rim.
Considering winter is almost done I really don't want 2 sets of tire however this is my first RWD
I've suggested maybe that I will take the winters and my dealer can keep the all seasons. Is this a good idea as long as I buy a new wheel package for summer?
What do you guys think?

That's a tough one, if you are for sure getting a tire package for the summer then I'd just get the winter tires. I take it this is going to be a year round car for you?

The plan is to get some summer rims but can't budget to much after picking this up...wifey is already yapping lol

I just don't wanna get stuck with winter tires and not be able to find some gently used rims and tires.

Yes this will be all year vehicle.

How can I sell it to the wife lol

If your going to drive it year round I'd do the deal and get the extra winter tires then, once you've burned through the all seasons then order a wheel and tire package.

I thought about that too but won't it cost more money to switch put the tires twice a year?

If I have 2 sets on and off. .no need to go to a shop :D

Now you might understand why I have a dilemma LOL

Suck it up and get four steel wheels for the winters, you'll get that money back in no time with not having to pay to mount and dismount. I'm trying to figure out how they could just add the new tires on and then bill you for it without your consent. They should put the all seasons on and eat the cost of the winters keep them.

I guess it's a case of "You pay me now or you can pay me later" but you will pay. Get the winters and look on Kijiji for a nice set of rims and tires that will suit your budget. Why is it the older gen (baby boomers) has to do all the thinking for the younger gen (I don't even know what they call them these days :dunno )? Maybe someone can enlighten me? :?

They are buying it from a different dealer and that dealer will not sell it to this local one unless they buy the winters with it. They have given me an amazing price for a base model + 4 oil changes + free tints on the mustang and front windows on my 2013 Explorer ...its the last NEW manual in Ontario and I dont wanna loose it.

Gotta call BS on that one. You should get what YOU want, not what THEY want you to have. Don't get hung up by this "last new manual in Ontario", they're using that to hang you out to dry. If they're doing a dealer trade, they can set the ground rules between the dealers, and this thing about not selling without the winter tires is BS. See how they feel if you tell them it's a deal breaker, and you'll walk if they try to stick you with the winters. Seriously, there's only like a million Mustangs out there. Personally, like Autonut said, I'd go with the winters and get a separate set of wheels, but the whole "we won't sell to you unless you take the winters" stinks.
