thanks for all the info. The c&l sounds like its the clear winner when you lay out all the facts but i think im just going to go with the roush only because i dont plan on going the route of the pure performance car that will most likely be my next stang ahah. my plans for this one are a clean factory looking cruise/show car

I'm sure the Roush will work great for you.

The C&L works good for the '05 plus stangs, but the '99 to '04 GT's another story. The 4.6 2V is a little more touchy with cold air intakes. They gain pretty much nothing from them. The JLT is probably the real proven cold air intake for the '99 to '04 GT's,even then the numbers are minimal.Reason is that it puts the maf in the fender well, and out of the heated engine bay, which allows it to read continuous cool air as appose to getting heated up in the engine bay in stop, and go traffic.
The Roush one doesn't look bad,and isn't made out of metal, which is good,it's just not as common as JLT,Steeda,or K&N ones,ects,ects.....
I'm sure you will like the Roush one for what your intent is.

^^^ I would have to agree with you. I did not realize that he had a 99 to 04 when I wrote my facts. I would go with the JLT foshowa!

Don't waste your money for no gain. If you really got your heart set on one I have a bbk if you want it. It has a brand new filter. I went back to stock cause it did nothing for me

i have a roush intake on my 2002 stage 2. in the beginning i bought a k&n intake didnt like it too much so i sold it and got a BBK. didnt like it either so i went back to stock. i find the roush intake has a throatier sound then the other two but i would suggest the roush filter with the intake also. on the dyno last year from bbk back to stock roush intake i gained 2 hp and combined with the diablosport predator tuner got a total of 18hp. hope it helps.

Intake

Hey guys..just got a JLT CAI open element K&N for my 2011 Roush. Initial pulls look like a gain of about 10-12 HP.
We then did a SCT tuner custom tune and gained about 46 to the wheels. Our final touches will be a 79mm pulley with Dyna tech LT's and a retune
The 5XR should be at closing in on 600 RWHP when we are done.:
Once we do the finals I will get the lads from Performance Plus to get me some paper work from the Dyno to post..
