Question Kenne Bell Supercharger

My warranty is finally up in June and I'm thinking about a supercharger and from what I've seen and read Kenne Bell looks like the way to go. Soooo what do you think? Is there a dealer for them in the area? Or am I nuts for wanting 500 horse under the hood and will the drive train take it?

Kenne Bell seems to be a pretty popular choice.

Whipple makes a nice blower but I believe they are probably more money.

I do like your choice going with screws instead of centifigual, much quicker response.

I run a KB on my 2V....it's a blast.....if you think your car is fun right now....wait until you bolt that sucker on there......instant boost....blower whine....yummy

If you've made it out to any of the Stang events over the last few years, you may have seen Big Ivan and his wild red 05 with a polished KB....car is awesome

and yes....I think you're crazy...we're all crazy

get her properly installed and tuned....you should have no problems.....with regard to the drivetrain.....if you beat the stink outta your car (stock or modded) something will evenutally break....if you drive her sensibly with the occassional mash of the gas.....you should be fine

I did a ton of research before I took the plunge....and IMO.....the positive displacement blowers are the way to go....regardless of the endless 1/4 mile pissing contests of who can go 0.15 seconds faster....if you spend 90+% of the time driving your car on the street....you'll get your money's worth outta the KB

and I love the old school placement of the KB.....right on top of the motor where it should be....nothing prettier in the engine bay IMO than a big polished lung sitting there

if you choose the polished version...be careful....cause once you bolt the blower on....you're gonna look at it and realize that the rest of the engine bay needs to be blinged out....and that will cost you more than the blower

Steeda.ca is a KB dealer.....I know they've installed and tuned a lot of them....I would recommend them....they've done a great job on my ride

My only regret was the exchange rate at the time....we did the mod in August 2004.....and playing with a 75 cent dollar has it's miserable moments

good luck

First off What year stang do you have?
If you have a 2V than Whipples are out of the question as these
are made for Cobra (4V) set-ups.
Not to familiar with the 3V set-ups so make sure you do TONS of research.
If ya want to speak with someone with a 3V Kenne Bell ...get a hold of Born2Run.
Secondly....If ya want 500 HP you will need to get a forged bottom end as well as a stock 2V bottom end will only safely handle around the 425 HP mark without granadeing on you.

KB's as 2000BLKGT stated are fun street blowers.

Sorry I guess I should of said, it's a 2005 GT coupe. You see I have this problem (if you can call it that) I never do anything part way, it's either all or nothing. So to just do a little here or there is halfass and I'm new to this. I'm 53 it's my first Mustang Butttt I LOVE and always have had the need for speed. The sensation of taking off from a light and being throwen back into your seat. Or having a "rice eater" come up beside me and giving him the finger because you know you could kick his (or her) butt.
I have the Bug.

For a 3V a KB or Roushcharger are the way to go IMO. You could also get a Vortech for maybe a slightly better price, but for cosmetics each time you pop the hood a roots style twin screw screams coool...
