On my 88 GT i was running a E-303 cam with 1.7 roller rockers, was told it was equal to 529 lift and it ran fine
I have a customer whose cam is .609" on the intake with a stock 1985 H.O shortblock, but that doesn't mean it will work for everybody - check it to be sure.

Wow!! thanx for all the input guys!!! I was away for a week and came back to see lots of info!! Just to clarify, my car is a 2 owner car all records even the original window stick ( 24000 in 88 if you can believe that gouge!!) it has 124000 kms on it. It was owned by an older lady and wasn't used a whole lot. It was completely stock when I got it, but I have done the usual to it ( air silencer, cone filter, advanced timing, flowmaster cat back, b+m ripper and 4.10's going in now). the car runs super nice and strong but it needs more umpf!! I have ordered bbk LT and short H and was just going to cam it but now I am thinking about getting some thumper heads an explorer intake and a cam.
thanx again you guys!!
