:Greetings, just joined. Old fart here, founded the ALBERTA MUSTANG OWNERS ASSOCIATION in 1978 and took part in the first meeting in GREAT FALLS planning the first INTERNATIONAL MUSTANG MEET, starting in LETHBRIDGE. :Bought my car in 78 with the 60000 miles for $3500.00. Picked it apart in 03 to begin fixing a few things when the wife decided I needed a divorce instead. Car has been sitting since. Buying parts now, trying to round up what I need and am stunned with the prices. My car is a factory cleveland, shaker, rear window louvers car. Sold new at HEALY FORD in EDMONTON, CALYPSO CORAL for $3800.00. I'm lookng for data for a power steering conversion. I wanted to put a rack in it, but, need to win the lottery first. So, was lookng at the BORGESON kit with the pump and stuff, which works out to $1150.00 cdn today. But want to sidestep criminal custom charges so looked to THE MUSTANG SHOP in the CALGARY. Whew!! I know they have to build in a cushion in the event of dollar fluctuations, but $1500.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wondering if anybod has some other suggestions. I'd buy it from BORGESON if I could get it shipped without using UPS or FEDEX & get round customs scam. Those guys just RAPE canadians! I know the canada-bankruptcy ended in 2017 so CANADA CUSTOMS CRIMINALS can no longer legalli-charge a dime! CANADA doesn't factualli even legalli-exist anymore. So, will fight before paying their extortion racket. I like to support local business, but it has to be worth it for me. Also, looking for a set of 70 MACH 1 sport lamp grile support brackets, guess they're not made anymore. Want to convert to disc brakes as well as this car is a factory 4 wheel drum car. Drums and sway bars??? Those kits look pretty reasonable as well, till you try to get them in SCAMADA. Anybody know what brakes from another car fit? I can do things pretty well myself and don't mind, just draw the line at financial rape. Been away from the hobby for a bit, custody battle got me studying law and contracts, so lots of things I just don't remember bout the cars.
