Just over a year ago I had my conv top repaired where it had separate along the top edge of the rear window (see post #102 and earlier). Well, it just re-separated and also the top material along the edge is now torn/frayed. The only solution is a new top. Has anyone out there actually successfully replaced their conv top themselves? The cost of professional replacement is almost as much as the car is worth.

I don’t think it’s a job I’d be keen on tackling. I’m sure you could find some videos on YouTube and decide if it’s worth trying

Yes, there is one very detailed youtube video describing removal of old top and installation of a new one. The only thing lacking is that he is installing a new top having a plastic rear window whereas I want to stick with the glass/defrost window as per original. Believe it or not, my wife says to spend the money to have it done professionally and I am the one baulking :-).. Must be the Scottish blood in me.
