most guys/shops who know what they're doing charge about $200-$225 for the install if memory serves
plus the gears ($300 new) shims (forget the cost but minimal) and fluid
call it $600 ish taxes in
but then you've gotta plan for the speedo recalibrated (depends on the year.....but to chip the car on the 99+ is $500 for the chip.....speedcal is cheaper - but a chip has more value down the road for tuning future mods)
throw in an aluminum driveshaft ($300 ish)
so on the high-end (all new parts...paying for labour), with all the bells and whistles...you're into $1400

I had 3.73's,and thought they were good,but wasn't enough,then i went to 4.10's wished i never went to 3.73's.Do it once,and don't spend twice.
And i would go with a hand held tuner,or a chip to re cab your speedo.
