What is the real appeal of losing money to upgrade when you have a perfectly sound vehicle?

You could mod your car, likely even motor swap for cheap. Not sure of the costs on a motor, but re/re is going to be $600-800 total, then motor, then exhaust, suspension parts. I am sure you could do it all with a real cheap donor car, or, just turbo your current ride.

rick.. i guess you didnt like my *****.. err.. rickp joke?
i stole it from another thread.. lol

anyways....
i guess I could mod it.. i am just looking to see whats available..
i just feel like I should of gotten the GT in the first place but since the insurance company I was on, was charging me up the butt... it pushed me away.. now that i can actually get one and not worry about the insurance price.... i feel like its what i wanted...

i got a good deal on my car and currently enjoying it so i dont want to just give it away... I will re-evalute my options before making any big jumps...

since I haven't put any money into my car currently... i figured maybe it would be easier to get a GT and then just start moding from there..
instead of modding the v6 and then maybe not feeling as satisfied?

if that makes any sense.. :/

I hear ya, I bought my current GT over a vert I had my eye on for a long time.

I should post the story, it is kind of sad :p

There is nothing wrong with going for the GT, just losing money to do it at this time isnt smart, is anytime smart?? The trade in value is going to be nothing. And even if you get what you feel is fair value for the trade, the car you are getting will be jacked up in price, the dealer doesnt lose.

Selling it might not be a pain during this economic crunch we have going on. Look at the current market.

What about buying a GT to go with your v6, have you checked eBay?

Most mustangs are seriously over priced in Canada, you need to consider the saving buying from the USA. Check RIV to make sure the car can come across the boarder and you should be good to go. People are hurting in the US, there are deals out there.

As for the ***** comment, meh. Whatever, it's the internet.

i have a friend that works at a dealership and can hopefully get what i want and not jack up the price... but we'll see... keeping my eyes peeled...

as for the ***** comment.. it was a joke in light of the other thread..

i guess i was expecting a reaction but got none!
hahaha

28.00 a month for my 05gt full coverage. I have to keep it under 5000 kms/year that's it. 2005gt=7811 kms so the mileage is no problem. I have never driven a six so I could not offer a educated opinion. I believe when buying Mustang's, Camaro's the 8 is the only way to go.

i agree.. the 8 is the only way to go..
it hurt selling my v8 trans am to get a v6 mustang... but.... i needed a reliable car at the time.. not one that was having problems and turned into a project car... if i wasn't getting ripped off from my insurance company so bad i'd be driving a gt... oh well.. we'll see what spring brings..
