I has to do with condensation building up within the exhaust. The pipes will warm up, then as they cool the water in the air will condence, then freeze (if your garage is not heated). Youre whole exhaust sytem will rot out in no time.
I did this with my '05 the 1st year before knowing any better. When I brought it out of storage the exhaust smelled like rotten eggs. Which is a sign of something bad in the cats. It went away after a while but ever since I've NEVER done it again.

Must be nice to have a garage. I park outside, can't leave the hood popped.
Ron you're right, I thought the door was effed, had a hell of a time opening it....panic had set in & I thought the window was going to shatter. Phew, it opened eventually...lol!

Thanks for the info, I planned on changing the exhaust in the spring anyhow,(time for the Bassani X pipe) but I don't want to screw anything up if I don't have to. Anyway, this is the last weekend of driving, then she's going on the roller dollys in the garage, but I'll be out there visiting her from time to time

Hey Guys...if you put a cover on the Stang and then throw a poly over the cover, won't the poly trap any moisture between the cover & the poly ( during temp changes)..hence into the Stang?

I would sooner deal with a little dust and let the cover breathe so there is no moisture/rot to deal with.

Personally if the car is outside for the winter I would not even cover it

Any problems with not covering it at all, if it's the garage? (non heated garage).

Any suggestions for longer term storage? I put my old Mustang in the back yard, covered him and put stabilizer in the fuel. Not sure when I'll be working on it, pretty much worn out, and a cracked bumper where we beat up a Kia. Had a hard time finding parts here in Northern BC.
