Welcome welcome, dino or synthetic, main thing is regular maintenance, no right or wrong, it's all where you want to spend your cash. Don't mind those that forget their manners. lol

Welcome.
Freakin rude members.....
Regular maint is what's important. If your conditions are severe then sometimes syn is a better way to go. Like if the temps are in the -40 range or above 50c.
Or you don't put many miles on it and don't want to change it twice a year regardless,,, etc...You can't go too far wrong following the Manufacturers schedule.

OK so today we went our first real drive, about 100kms mix of highway and city. The car was an easy drive and once you got up to say 120kph it sat nicely at just over 2100revs.....but it seemed sluggish getting there. In all honesty I doubt the car has ever been opened up and I am not a really aggressive driver but when things like a Honda crv are holding speed against you???? So, how about cleaning the maff sensor, maybe new plugs...but the car has great service history etc....advice, comments, welcome.

Cleaning the MAF is a great idea. Although when the MAF is having any issues it will usually illuminate an nice little light on the dash in the shape of an engine...but not always.
Make sure you use MAF cleaner...not brake clean...
sincerely...the rude member
P.S I have some ideas to get rid of the sluggish feeling...

Well, one week in, like the car, but have decided to do what I can without going overboard....so advice please, a KN filter, or cold air intake, brand of choice, stay with stock plugs or is it worth going for more expensive.....everyone talks about gears, but that's a bit much for me....thx for making me feel welcome here, cheers.
