Yea pretty sad indeed. I drove it home and parked it until the lowering kit came.

So I was planning on doing exhaust as well but I will now wait until spring and see what works best for my situation from the members here.

I for some reason am really leaning towards Borla, but cannot say why. They just seem to have a great reputation.

I have read where guys were disappointed ,because they expected more noise.

These cars ,sound good from the factory IMO,and I guess what I am really looking for is the 4" tips to fill the outlets better and simply maintain the existing sound.

Part two is the car drives as close to a race car as I have felt. I actually want to drive this car more than any I have owned.

I was amazed at how many of my friends had never been in one,let alone drive one,and they also are shocked at the quality in these cars.

As I said I am 50 yrs old,and I can only bend to about the console height, so then it is a free fall drop to the seat.

I was bottoming out at first, and then I discovered that the driver side muffler had missed the hanger hole (rite from the factory I would say),and was hooked in one of the corner openings of the rubber.

Once I had that fixed, both pipes were the same height under the rear seat and I have not scraped since.

Borla is good quality but expensive and their sound isn't always right (my opinion I guess). I heard the Hooker Aerochamber setup on an 05 and thought it sounded great but I am unsure of their quality as I have no real experience with their products.

I told my wife that I would not touch the 09 for some time re mods. Yeah right within a week the car had new springs and exhaust mind you it was not installed for several months due to the time of year i.e. Jan

I think that is what classifies people like us as enthusiasts. I have never owned a vehicle that I haven't put some type of accessory or upgrade on.

I always have changed something. Maybe the slightest thing as window tint or upgraded stereo but always something.

I have only done the stereo once and it was a dousey. The 90GT had 5000.00 worth of stereo system installed in Apr 91 and that was a fair chunk of change 20 years ago i.e. 10,000.00 today with inflation factored in.

Actually I'd have to disagree with you. Stereo equipment is way cheaper than ever used to be. When I was a kid I saved forever to get a base model Pioneer CD player and payed over $400 for it. $400 gets you a pretty nice head unit now with way more features and amps are way cheaper too. Damn kids have it made now.

Actually I never thought of it that way but indeed you are likely correct sir. Look at microwaves, late 70's 1200.00 now 100.00. I did have a beautiful system in the 90 with Boston Acoustic speakers ($$$$$$) 2 subs blue/gold wiring etc. I remember the install was 1100.00 and took a few days and on that note I bet install prices have gone up.

I'm sure labor has increased from then. Got any pics of the system? Sounds like you had a pretty sweet setup. I only could have dreamed of a system like that when I was younger and now I just don't listen to the music quite so loud. I like the sound of the car too much. It's funny what you mentioned about the microwave as my dad told me the story of the first calculator he ever saw which cost hundreds of dollars and now people give them away as business cards.
