I absolutely love the way these newer auto's shift, no lag between shifts at all.

I had the 4 speed auto in my 04 GT and I wasn't a fan of it at all. These newer 5 and 6 speeds are pretty nice though.

For sure on the technology! I've never felt an auto shift like this. I haven't taken her full throttle from standing yet. Just from a slow roll and then full throttle, it was amazing, but I think I felt some wheel hop? It felt like a tiny, tiny hop to the side when it shifted without losing any control, but also a cold road and tires hadn't been heated up.

If it's wheel hop you will feel more of a shake or bouncing from the rear. It sounds to me like a slight traction loss on the shift which could give you a twitch to the side. Chances are the cold pavement was the culprit.
