...We wouldn't be here if we didn't. My comment was not meant as a slam, just an observation. It would be nice to see some more 4.0 owners posting. I know they're out there.

rampant racing...if you post some info here about your project, maybe we could get a thread or two going.

One more here. Tired of all the people that ask why didn't you get a GT.

OK , I'll start.
We wanted 05 after being impressed with the style at an 05 unvieling in Detriot for Mustangers prior to the Woodward Dream cruise in 04.

Our car has;
Eibach springs
American Racing wheels with P Zero Nero tires
CDC hood scoop
CDC air dam
CDC light bar with wind screen
Pypes true dual exhausts with GT mufflers

Just heard yesterday that the 2011 V6 will have 300 horses - nothin to sneeze at. Beats my 260 hp GT.:)

I only meant that I love all Mustangs regardless of the fact it has a V6 or a V8. To each their own.:)

i have built a billet modular alluminum intake manifold for the 4.0.started the project about 3 months ago .has a built in cooler to keep the intake cold on those hot summer days .no pumps or hoses or messy ice.it's a chemical reaction process.is built totally of 6061 t6 aircraft quality alloy.will be real helpfull to keep the air temps down on the turbo motors aswell.it is a short runner larger plenum design for increases in the mid too upper rpm range.the runners flow 350 cfm as compared to the stock average of 273cfm.we have tested all this on a superflow 600 flowbench.the factory 65mm tb flows 695 cfm.i may sell thes intakes if there is any interest.i have had interest on some of the u.s forums.i am not advertising this on this forum as that would be against the rules.should i decide to sell them i will pay to advertise them here.i will try to get some pics put in my album.

rampant racing 01-02-2010 01:29 AM

the pics are posted in my album.the finished manifold pics will be along soon.hope you like it.

Ray Spencer 01-02-2010 09:46 AM

roddy 01-02-2010 09:41 PM

I have an '07 torch red V6 coupe. Manual trans, no abs or tcs. I bought it new in '07, and have added a few mods along the way.
so far:
Xcal tuner with tunes by bamachips
C&L cai
JBA shorty headers
GT take-off exhaust
180 degree thermostat
3.73 gears and auburn carrier
aluminum driveshaft
upper and lower control arms, adj. panhard bar and brace, roush rear springs, and GT take-off swaybars
hurst shifter
GT take-off leather
GT500 steering wheel and pedals
CDC chin spoiler and hood struts
"shaved" trunk lid (removed sat. antenna, spoiler, fake gas cap, and lock cyl.) with center section painted flat metallic black.
plus about 100lbs weight reduction.
next step...forced induction.

JimmySlort 01-02-2010 10:21 PM

Yup, some of us out here on the Best Coast. Love those mountain passes, especially when I'm getting 37 mpg!

I placed the order on Tuesday and it should be here Monday morning.:chacha: I'm tempted to go up to the shop now and start pulling the intake...

rampant racing 01-23-2010 01:53 PM

that wouldn't be a bad idea. you never know what issues you might run into.good to get the head start.

rampant racing 01-23-2010 02:05 PM

i posted some more pics of my manifold build project in my album.it still needs some more polishing to be complete but it's getting close to being installed on the car.let me know what you think.all comments welcomed.

spuddy 03-28-2010 04:42 PM

I'm new here and I too have the 4.0 V6.

I was driving past a Ford dealer recently on my skooter and there out front was a 2006 Redfire Pearl Metallic convertible with tan interior. I fell in love. I couldn't believe how cheap it was. Low kms.. not a mark. mags. Shaker stereo. power everything. I bought it. Now here I am just quietly reading what other have to say.

rampant racing 03-28-2010 05:26 PM

enjoy it .they are great cars.

Ray Spencer 03-29-2010 09:12 PM

I'd only wait for those slow naturally aspirated V8's at the track...hehe

Pics you say? I may have a few of those;

I know you were on Matts dyno but how did you lose 117hp? (366-249) My 500 went down 96hp so I'm told 500-404:wiggle:

I wish I knew the answer to that one - I'm going on what Matthew has told me but any other dyno chats I've seen state that for an automatic the rwhp is usually around 75% of the hp at the crank. I have to speak with Matthew as the car is consistantly throwing error codes, first it said it was running too rich...after redirecting some of the gasses towards the s/c instead of straight into the airbox where it seems it was causing turbulence around the MAF it now says it's running lean. The build process has been far from smooth sailing so I kinda expected nothing less but it's still frustrating to say the least.

rampant racing 07-09-2010 12:34 AM

do you have an air fuel ratio gauge and if so what kind do you have.

No additional guages at this time.

rampant racing 07-09-2010 12:58 AM

get yourself an AEM WIDEBAND A/F GAUGE. easy to install and it lets you keep an eye on the a/f ratio .this is very important on a boosted car.it lets you see what it is at idle and at full boost aswell as everywhere in between.they cost $184.99 US ,so $199.00 cdn.i just bought one for a friend of mine tonight who doesn't have paypal.got it off ebay from a company in florida.you really should get one.

SNAKEBITE 07-09-2010 03:03 AM

My concern would be losing 30% through the driveline, good luck though.
