And that doesn't work, AP and I will go in there and tag team them for you.

See how they feel if you tell them it's a deal breaker, and you'll walk if they try to stick you with the winters. Seriously, there's only like a million Mustangs out there. Personally, like Autonut said, I'd go with the winters and get a separate set of wheels, but the whole "we won't sell to you unless you take the winters" stinks.
do you think its a good idea to just take the snow tires with the rims as a straight trade for the pirelli all seasons or should i stick with the all seasons and make them keep the winters?
the reason im so torn on this is because this is my first RWD and from what ive been reading I should be getting winters (this will also be my first winter tires)

thanks again for all the great advice team

Like Autonut already stated, you need 2 sets of wheels and tires if you are going to drive that car in the winter.

If this is your first RWD you will see real quick what its like to handle one of these in a few cm of snow...let alone without winter tires on.

I've been stuck in the middle of a flat parking lot before.

How much of a budget do you have to spend?

I got treed, but what I say still applies.

^^^ I also call BS on the dealer forcing you to take the snowtires. I think they may have already done this so they don't want to lose any money swapping them back.
Now I think it's good sense to have these tires on your car, and to get some nice rims that you like that fit your Mustang for the Spring/Summer/Fall seasons.
There are plenty of rims out there and many Mustang owners swap their factory rims out and put them up for sale. This is prevalent in the US as there are so many more Mustang owners by population so the prices they ask are really reasonable (shipping will offset this though, but there are many ways to counter that)
What size are your rim and tires? If you want to use your all seasons you'll need to shop that size for your new rims. Are the snow tires good quality?
When I look up the base wheels it indicates silver rims in 17". Are you sure Ford isn't supplying you with the snow tires on steel rims as a second set?
Whatever you do don't panic, you're the boss. You have the money that they want and they have the product that needs to meet your standards.

Boy, you're sure stuck on choosing one or the other. You don't NEED winter tires, but if you can afford it, it's a good way to go. All season's are just that, all season. Good for winter, but not great. Winter tires are a softer compound to grip the ice better, and if you run them all year round, you'll scrub all the good out of them on dry asphalt eight months out of the year. Sounds like your best bet is to go with all seasons until you can afford, or choose, to get winters. Back in the day, we never had winter tires, I can remember driving rear wheel drive in the winter on bald bias ply tires. You kids with your fancy all season radials got it good. lol Hey Autonut, do we get our own entrance music for when we enter the dealership??

The factory rims are silver and 17's (very basic)

im gonna talk to my dealer soon and see what he says....

Ive located a set of 18 black GT rims that have about 3K kms on it for about $700...that would meet my needs and hence i would take the winter tires and rim pkg.

LOL I guess the world is a better place thanks to winter tires Apocalypse Pony
