I forgot to add, I personally love the 427R look, I'd be all over one for a good price. All that matters to me is even if you buy an 07 or 08 it'll still take down a new Camaro SS or Challenger 392.
Unfortunately, it doesn't have the 427R body kit. It has the Roush Stage 2 body kit, but the 427R powertrain and brakes were added later.

Here's a picture I have that the owner sent me in an email during our negotiations:

I think it stool looks amazing. I never thought the black on black stripes would look so good.

Ok, my friend found this 2011 Mustang. Judging by the 5.0 tag on the side, it's the 5.0 Mustang GT. He found this at a Ford dealership. It was the demo car, and has about 20,000 km on it, and is selling it for $34,000 CAD plus taxes (there was a bit of haggling to bring down the price).

It's backed by a 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty. What do you guys think of this? It has the Roush body kit (from what my friend told me), but none of the performance parts, just the body kit.

What do you think about these cars? What's good about them? What's bad. My understanding is it has 412hp, which isn't a big difference from the 435 of the 2008 I showed. What do you guys think? 2011 with warranty, or 2008 with performance parts?

I installed a Roush M90 kit on spouses 05 convertible, OMG it was a completely different Beast as in power, speed and sound, That S/C would scream! It was a Very Very fun car, the power came on quicker than my shelby! I had no problems with the coupler and didn't hear about any. If anything with my research it was a very "safe" mod with proven, positive results for the 4.6L S197 hence the warranty offered!

Fast forward to the new Coyote (5.0l) which my friend has, and all I can say is go for for the newer model! With just a CAI and tune that Mustang is a screamer, I can't imagine what results a S/C or turbo would provide, I would say many smiles per miles!
In the end shop around and find the newest model you can afford, I'm sure you will be happy with either but, the 5.0l would be my pick!(having been there done that)!
Cheers
Mike

Sounds good, I'll probably pick up that 2011 5.0 GT then. I figured newer is better.

A couple reasons why I'd like the new one over the old one:

1) it's new (duh!)
2) better mileage
3) I don't have to baby it as much, and I can use it in the winter!
4) warranty
5) upkeep and maintenance won't be as expensive since there's no performance parts
6) slightly better insurance rates
7) it's sexy
8) has pretty much the same horsepower (and it's stock!)
9) apparently with 2011 models (and onward) Ford was able to compensate for the live rear axle, making the handling a lot better.
10) did I mention it's sexy?

11. ITS A CONVERTIBLE!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats! The Saleen is a very nice car but the 5.0L IMO is the better choice and to top it all off it's a CONVERTIBLE the best of both worlds!
