Just made an appointment with my mechanic to change out the spark plugs on the 07 GT. GT has 104,500 km on so it's about time for the change out. Going to have the two piece Motorcraft plug changed out to a one piece Champion plug - Champion 7989. Possibly changing out the boots to depending on their condition. Then have some mudflaps installed on the rear. After the GT is done going to have the spark plugs changed out on the 05 4.0L and have the emergency brake line possibly replaced. Now you know what I am doing with part of my income tax return.

 

What is the engine build date on your 07 Ray? I'm pretty sure November 30, 2007 is the cutoff date for the two piece plugs, anything built after that will have the one piece plug.

I've had two piece plug changes on 3 different F150 5.4 3V engines and 23 or 24 plugs broke. Hopefully you have better luck.

 

Don't know the build date of the 07. I bought the 07 in the fall of 2014 but got no info on the build date. Guess I will have to wait until the plugs are removed to find out. Thanks for the info.

 

Just found out the build month was May, 2007 so the GT would have the old two piece plug.

 

I replaced my squeaky factory lower control arms last weekend with a set of Whitelines. Weather has been too crappy to give them a proper test yet though

FINALLY back on the road, its been six months to the day since I parked it, no issues with the battery or anything.

Surprised that the on-board clock actually reset itself to the correct time instead of blinking "12:00" .......
