It's a bit of a mystery converter but it feels to be about 3200 stall

Made it out to *****. I wasn't expecting to get out this season but my cousin's husband has some friends out at ***** and he offered to tow me in the double car trailer he borrowed since he was going to be heading through Windsor anyway. The car really wasn't ready but figured since it's no longer on the road I may as well do some shake down runs on a track.

Turned out to be one long day with the hassles at the border and the commute was a killer but the track wasn't busy and it was prepped pretty good imo. My cousin has an early 80s era camaro - 4 bolt 350/400 crank HCI ladder bars glide big shot of juice. He says it's capable of 9s on spray but he just went all motor and went low 11s for all his runs, dead consistent though. We've had the chevy vs. ford rivalry going on for some time so it was nice to get out together.

I was a little annoyed that I only got to make one pass, his friend let me through tech even though my remote battery kill switch wasn't properly hooked up. More on that later.

I had my ET Streets on and I wasn't in kill mode. Just Pump gas and a splash of 110 that he had extra. I was low boost (10 psi with a small spike to 12 psi) and 10 degrees of timing. Car was pig rich though.

Got the car staged after a quick burn out to heat the tires up. I was really embarrassed though, every time I tried to build boost using the foot brake the rear tires would spin and push me through so I ended up leaving with no boost off the line. That said I still managed my best ever 60ft - a low 1.5. Could only imagine what I could have done with my slicks and even 5psi on the line.

Car spooled up fast and my cousin says I had both front tires a good couple inches off the ground. I'm surprised with all the spinning I could feel. She stayed straight though and when I slammed it into second she bit hard and I was off like a rocket. The way the rpms were climbing I was really afraid I had too much gear for the 1/4 but I wound out second to just over 6000rpm. It was still pulling like a raped ape but high power + high rpm + stock short block = broken parts and I didn't like winding it out like that on her first run but whatever.

Shifted into 3rd and I really thought I wasn't going to make it to the finish line but I take a quick look around and I couldn't believe how far down the track I was. Fastest I had gone before this was a 13.1. Trapped right around 5900rpm which was pretty good.

Slow down and open the windows, crank on the heat and defrost. Go and get my time slip and park the car. I hadn't even checked the slip yet when the guy who teched me in comes walking up shaking his head and this gets me all worried that I blew something and covered the track with trans fluid or oil or something. He gets up to me and says "Sorry bud. Just got a call and you are done for the day." My cousin starts going off on him a little bit and I just say it's fine and go to check on my car. I guess the owner or manager told him to boot me for no cage and how bad the car was "smoking".

I wish I could have seen it but I guess when I rolled down the windows all kinds of black smoke came billowing out. Open down pipes + Giant hole in the trans tunnel from the T5 + Pig Rich = Lots of smoke in the **** pit lol. I also really broke into the 'you must have a cage' territory with a high 10 second pass. I was shocked....still am lol.

Anyway, here are my results
1/4 ET 10.897
1/4 MPH 126.11
60ft 1.5159

I was happy with a 10 second pass and nothing broken but it would have been nice to dial it in some more. The car had so much more with slicks, 15psi, and a bit more timing. Guess it's time for me to step up to a stand alone as I'm pretty much at the limits of the stock DA1 speed density eec and no driveability to speak of. Also going to step down to a 3.55, maybe even a 3.27...want to get it on a dyno and check out the curves before I decide.

Anyway I know a few of you were looking forward to how she performed. Could have been better and could have been worse. I'm pretty happy.

Edited out the track - my cousin doesn't want to get his friend in trouble for letting me in. If you really want to know just PM me.

Yes. Cage it will get. Don't know enough about them so I need to do some research on what I need. I vaguely remember an old issue of MM&FF or 5.0 magazine that had specs for a cage that allowed you to keep the back seat functional.

Just scanned through your buildup definately looks interesting, recently moved to belle river area, drive a 89 fox not quite like yours its pretty basic heads cam intake blah blah very clean car though, away for winter now. Anyways would be awesome to check out your car sometime man especially since im considering a s/c or turbo set up...probably just a plain jane vortech though.
