I have them both, a V6 and a Mach.
Last spring I had the Mach and a 93 MarkVIII.
The Lincoln needed some TLC to the body (I owned it since '95) and the price was a bit high IMO.
There were random issues with the electrical, the air ride was starting to go (had replaced the bag on one side) the radio would turn off when it was warm outside and not turn back on.

My old MarkVIII had many gremlins in her and the $$s to bring it back to like when I bought it were more than I wanted to put in her.
The 4.6 DOHC engine was awesome, still working fine, no leaks had over 211k kms. The rest was ca-ca.

I needed a daily driver.
I love Mustangs.
I chose NOT to replace my MarkVIII with another luxury sport.

I leaned towards another Mustang.
Debated on GTs until I got a steal of a deal on this V6.
I bought it and I actually have a boat load of fun when I drive it.
A 2000 V6 without ABS or TC, just like old days and driving around using the rear tires to steer in the snow.

I do notice I have crap loads of jettas, civics trying to race me. I laugh, I am stock they are done to the nines. Have fun boys, ya you beat a stock V6. I do not regret buying this car and as a daily driver it is well worth it.
As of this AM my 2000 V6 has 42,349kms on the OD.

here is my reasoning.

05GT was just under $800 a month on payments alone.
Insurance would have been close to $300
thats $1100 a month just for a car.

05 V6
under under $500 payments, 172 insurance
= close to 700 a month

Other reasons.

Getting married next year.
& Dont want to strap myself

REASON ENOUGH???

.LOL.

OHYes05 I hope you can make it to the Michigasn race too, we need all the V6 help we can get, bone stock cars have the best chance of winning the bracket class.

Ya after I posted my earlier reply I noticed the web link in your sig.
I checked it out.
The piston trophies are VERY cool!! <-- that would be an item to have.
Saw racing.
My V6 is stock, so I'd get smoked. (K&N and dual exhaust aren't that much of an addition! )
I really do enjoy the car shows and to join up with any mutual enthusiast is always a good time.
The day after I brought the V6 home, I clay bar'd and waxed.
My Mach is being woken up next weekend & a clay bar / fresh wax day on both Mustangs is in the cards very soon!

Sept. 3 is a Saturday so that is good.
What day are you heading down?
Any good $$ cost wise places to sleep Sat. night?
I'll follow you as long as you don't use your supercoupe motor too hard!

The V6Power.net site yours? I'm registered there as 'vee-six fan'

the fast cars run in Heads UP, you woudl run in the Bracket class where you have a chance at winning, the winners are usually the stock cars since they are the most consistant.

We usually get a deal on a hotel so that shouldn't be a problem, I'll most likely head down for Friday afternoon some time, so prob leave like noon on Friday maybe earlier I dunno yet. I don't know how ready my car will be, its never ready, but then again its hard to race and organise it at the saem tiem, the Alabama race I had 3 other guys helping with the event, plus the lack of cars made it easier to race.
